Normal prosedyre er:
- du må ha en tftpserver tilgjengelig, f.eks. 3Com tftp-server fra http://support.3com.com/software/utilities_for_windows_32_bit.htm
- last ned ny firmware fra http://support.fortinet.com
- Koble deg til konsollporten, se Oppsett mot konsollporten
- Koble til strømmen
- Avbryt oppstarten når teksten «Press any key to display configuration menu…» vises.
- Formater «boot-devicen» (velg F, deretter Y)
- Velg så G (Get firmware image from TFTP server). Oppgi parametre.
